Initial plan of action 

I plan to do the photography section of this assignment in my hometown of Bridgend, as it is easier for myself as I live at home. There are many locations I could use such as: 

• Bridgend designer outlet 
• Ogmore Beach 
• Ogmore Castle 
• Many Footpaths 

As I will be doing this assignment from home, I have decided to use my families camera. The reason behind this is time restraints as many others would want to use the universities camera which would limit my camera time. With the use of my own camera I can use it whenever I want and can go back to locations if images are of poor quality.  

The camera I am going to use is a Nikon D5100 - AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55MM f/3.5-5.6G VR camera(EDIT LENSE). This is a personal camera and not a Swansea Metropolitan University camera so image results may not be as good because of the price range difference which could mean not as good image quality.

Overview of task in hand

And Begin 

The aim of this project is to create a range of experimental rich media which is suitable for inclusion in my personal portfolio site which will demonstrate my ability to gather appropriate audio visual material for future clients.  

I have been tasked in producing the following elements: 

• Night and Day HDR images. 
• Panorama for inclusion as a web banner. 
• Studio portrait for inclusion into a personal profile. 
• Landscape. 
• Video interview (2 Person). 
• Commercial studio product shots (3). 
• Short (2mins) video production. 
• Stereo audio sequence. 

For each of these elements I will have to research how to take photo using the correct technique. This ranges from the best camera settings to the best angles etc. I will also need to research the different type's of photograph techniques and the different file formats. All this is needed to be done before any 'photos' are taken.

Before going out on locations, I plan to sit down and get used to the controls and settings of the camera which will enable me to take the best possible photographs. 

After all the photo taking, I will need to get behind a computer and begin the editing process. Thus the reason to research the best practices for this process. 

Lastly is to research how to make the final results available to those on the web and mobiles so I will need to research compression techniques.
